It is a commonly held, and largely mistaken, belief that the United States of the States was founded on religious tolerance and freedom. farthest from the truth this is, however...nearly the opposite, in fact. The founders of this province, the Puritans, were unrelenting and vengeful in their religious practices...so zealous and dissolute nearly prayer-this and holy-that that they actually left their indigenous field so that they could animated out their strict, vengeful lives al unmatchable. The Puritans were singular in their cause, and unvaried in their thoughts. In site to drive out the Devil, you demand do this, non eat this, drink this, and so on. Violators and dissenters were purged, whether it be burning, hanging, drowning, or stoning (oh-so-many modal set to die in the Colonies). And we enunciate this on, even today. Whether we know it or not, Ameri hatfuls still engage in this intolerance of differing views and opinions...if we see it as a threat, whether it truly is or not, it is dealt with. Communism was no different. The Reds and Commies were persecuted because they believed in just aboutthing that was manifestly different. Many of these Communists were simply out to reward break off wages for their families. And then news report caught up with itself, skipped back to the counterbalance track, and repeated. The government framed and the loudness blamed and they became an amorphous tamp of seething anger and tearing bigotry. First there were the Palmer Raids, and then McCarthyism, followed by the Hollywood Blacklist. The United States feared confederacy from all sides during the aftermath of the basic ball struggle, all the course into the end (and beyond) of the second World contend. --References --> this search was slieghtly erratic, im still not authoritative weather the author was for or against the practises of the men he biographied. unfortunatly, the author did not seem to relize that the puritans came to the States to practise religious beliefs, that was the plan of coming from america, the seperation of church and body politic was formed to prvent what had happend in britain, they did not want a laboured trust. they held their practises to keep their personal pietism pure, and so when these men were chip comunism, they were trying to keep the country pure from comunists, unfortunatly, thay had the wrong reasons, and their activitys can be dubbed racist and so on this essay did have some valid points concerning that topic, but to a fault had a kind of confused thesis.
