Background and History of Sha Tin
Sha Tin is located in the New Territories. Sha Tin is a new town and has in the main residential areas. There are about 29,000 people subsisting in 48 indigenous villages. There are quaternity industrial areas for light industries in Sha Tin including Tai Wai, Fo Tan, Siu Lek Yuen and Shek Mun. Sha Tin was formerly diagnosed Lek Yuen, meaning Source of Clear water system then why is it called Sha Tin? During the rule of the British, the officials misplaced the name of Lek Yuen as Sha Tin Wai, so thats how Lek Yuen was renamed as Sha Tin Wai.
Traffic and Transportation

Road-Lion Rock Tunnel can take you to exchange Kowloon. Drivers can get to East Kowloon by the Tates cairn Tunnel (the longest tunnel in Hong Kong which is 4 kilometers long) and to northeastward East New Territories via the Tolo Highway. Route 5 (a highway) connects Sha Tin to Tsuen demented through the Shing Mun Tunnel and to Hong Kong Island with the Western Harbour Tunnel.
